“Wyoming is for Lovers”

Congratulations to Qbala and Dominic Deadbeat for taking the first place prize in the Colorado Music Buzz Bandwagon 4 competition. Judges voted for their favorite acts and gauged spectator response in a series of shows that lasted for several months all taking place at in the Lava Room at the Reserve Casino in Central City. People with tickets were also able to cast their own votes on who they thought the winners should be at each show.
In addition to being voted number one the first place winners walked away with $10,000 in cash. Not a bad deal considering how great the other bands in the line up were that they were competing with. Here are few pages of photos of Qbalal and Dominic Deadbeat from the April 14th show.
This is a video of the ReMINDers performing their song “We Are” at the Aggie Theatre opening for Method Man and Redman on April 18th 2013 in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Going out on the weekend is a great release after drudging through a long work or school week. For me the usual weekend will involve some sort of music, a little bit of drinking and as many friends as possible. In Fort Collins it seems that the hardest of these three things to accomplish is getting together with friends. There is always a place to drink or place to here great music but as we get older we get busier and friends don’t always have the time. Luckily in a town with such a great attitude and atmosphere no matter who you know you’ll always have a friend.
So it comes down to finding the right place to go and that can be a hard decision. Since music comes first in my mind I generally base my decision on that before any other factors. In Fort Collins there are not only great bands in rotation at the many venues but there are also great DJ’s that play in the local bars and venues on a weekly basis. A favorite of mine is Ras Cus, you can catch him at Luscious Nectar on Saturday nights. This past Saturday though Ras Cus put out a last minute message that he was filling in at 100 Octane. Now 100 Octane is not one of my favorite places to go but knowing that their sound system is good and their dance floor is a lot larger than the one at Luscious we decided to check out Ras Cus in a different environment.
